Lots of bait in the bay of late. Massive numbers of northern anchovies--to go along with massive numbers of hooks! Anyone ever hear of the three hook minimum? Err.... I mean maximum. I guess not. Doesn't really make sense when there's no limit on anchovies tho, does it?
On a personal note I have been absolutely destroying the sardines in the bay of late (though I won't say where). Here is the evidence:
Crab bait, striper bait, halibut bait galore: all caught in the bay in the last three days. And what's even more remarkable, caught them all on a very legal, three hook Sabiki (movie forthcoming).
Just in case I needed a reminder that there are other, larger fishes worth pursuing, Mr. Niko Von Sharky had to go ahead and invite me over for a meal of white sea bass recently caught via kayak at points south of us (the sharkster caught two: a 55 pounder and a 30 pounder. BTW: The 55 pounder took 45 minutes to reel in).
I am terribly slammed with "things I gotta do" this week... among them, fighting for my job. Hence the short post. More later... here's a parting photo of our favorite Boer, gloating over his massive chunks of white sea bass flesh. Guess who provided the sardines?
(Note: even this storied South African Alpha predator (Sharky) is a big fan of the little sardine!
