I'm glad the bass man is now wrong.

Great Read, we feel the same way every time we go night surf fishing. Last month a small group of us stayed until way after midnight...the high score was two fish...me with one. Well, not skunked. It was a beautiful night out with good friends. During the night we had seen the most spectacular shooting star...with flames and sparks spewing off...you could actually see a shadow on the backside of the meteor as it passed to the south....truly amazing. Keep up the posts Kirk, we are enjoying the reads.

Welcome back, Mr. Lombard. I can not express (although perhaps I could but will use the cliche anyway) how nice it is to see this post, nor can I adequately tell you how much I've missed the particular tenor you hit in your ramblings. You may have to bow to the commercial aspect of life at times; man still must eat. There may be some melancholy to your days now, a patina of dolor accreted on your spirit, but I think you see that this too must pass. She is a harsh mistress, the sea; awful, frightening, powerful... but can also refresh the soul and scour it fresh and clean. I hope your brief tryst has quickened you, and that you take pause to see your path from fresh perspective. You have a rare talent and you owe the world a debt not to squander it.

I was glad to see this post arrive! Homebound with stresses from all fronts, it transported me just a little, but enough, to a better headspace. Long live the Queen!
