(Okay... I fixed the links... let's try this again!)
Hey everybody! Guess what? I'm on NPR!
Scroll down to the picture of me, then click the play back thingee, and slide the cursor to the last third (the Fishwife says my interview begins at 31:14).
In other news... while everyone's talking about tuna, salmon and now, white seabass... Lombard of the Intertidal would like to be the first to inform the people of San Francisco that the sardines have finally arrived! Where?
The local Sabiki crew. Jigging dinner from Islais (AKA: "Shit") Creek.
Shit Creek. That's where. Sardines have been running on outgoing and dead low tides at Shit (Islais) Creek this week. Although the guys pictured above are fishing for dinner, I can't really say I'm overjoyed at the prospect of eating something taken out of that particular body of water (remember this post?). Nevertheless, sardines are still the best baitfish known to man, and the ones I caught yesterday will seem like sparkling clean, dioxin-less fish from the bright blue ocean when they flutter in the face of the king salmon I intend to catch on the Trinity this fall.
Heading out for nightfish tonight (Thurs). If any like minded individual gets this and wants to join me, shoot me an e-mail. I hate walking that beach alone.

The majority of the fishermen out at SHIT creek as you always mention don't know the history of the place. Maybe you should go out there and educate these guys. The sardine run has almost come to an end, this started about 3 weeks ago and they are now at the tail end of the run it seems.
