What a forutnate experience. It's fascinating to think that without any notice even the most everyday activity may suddenly be transformed and seamlessly become part of something larger. This reminds me of other writers descriptions sudden, brief, events; moments frozen forever in time only notable because of the transitory and unexpected nature of their extraordinary occurance. What are the odds of being a part of something like this? Of all the people on the ocean that day, in vastness of the sea it happend to you.

Great "high sticking" technique landing that rockfish there Kirk! A very effective way of snapping rod tips. If you or Mike need any technique tutoring, I offer my services free of charge.
What, me, jealous I couldnt make it on that trip down to SC?

Saw a huge flock of these guys and other types of birds off Pacifica Pier on Sunday - was an epic sight as the sun set.

Nice catch btw!
